The Southern Maryland Sabres Hockey Club recreational program is designed to provide hockey players an opportunity to learn and develop skills in a team setting. The recreational program is also designed to assure equal opportunity for players of all skill levels to participate in a positive environment. Players participation is key, and no tryouts are required.
These teams participate in the Capital Corridor Hockey League (CCHL). The league is part of the Southeastern District of USA Hockey and their home arena is the Capital Clubhouse in Waldorf, MD. Rec Programs Practice October thru February.
The Southern Maryland Sabres Hockey Club travel program (consisting of Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget teams) begins its season a little earlier and ends a bit later with practices running from August- March. These teams participate in the Capital Beltway Hockey League (CBHL) which part of the Southeastern District of USA Hockey
